PAINTING
Our bread and butter is custom miniature painting. We understand that every project is different in its own way, so we pay attention to each individual piece so your miniatures look exactly how you want them. We offer 3 different tiers of painting depending on how you want your miniatures to look on the battlefield.
TIER 3 - TABLETOP
Perfect for at-home games, or for large armies, this tier tends to take the least time to paint.
While we maintain our standards for quality and artistry, painting for Tabletop orders will be more simple when compared to the other two tiers. The major elements of each of your miniatures will be defined by color (skin, cloth, armor, etc.), washes will be added for depth, and bases will be finished with paint, or simple basing material.
TIER 2 - TABLETOP PLUS
A medium tabletop level, we recommend these for more specific characters, as well as streamed or recorded games. Due to the increased level of detail, these will take longer to complete than Tier 3 projects.
Tabletop Plus miniatures will have more layers, deeper shading, and more attention will be paid to details, especially in and around the face. In addition, color values will be heightened in order to make features stand out, and bases will contain more components (tufts of grass, mixed materials, weathering, etc.)
TIER 1 - SHOWCASE
Our highest project tier, these miniatures require more advanced painting techniques, and attention is paid to every single detail. Recommended for special characters.
These often include additional elements surrounding your miniature, creating more of a narrative scene rather than a board game piece. Various techniques are expanded upon in this tier, such as focal lights, gradients, glazes, metallics, and more.
3D PRINTING
Sometimes there are miniature models you can’t find at your local game store, and 3D printers are expensive. Trust us, we know. You deserve to be able to enjoy your minis, so let us take care of the printing.
All miniatures containing fine detail will be printed on our Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K Large High Resolution 3D Printer. Any large model that does not require fine, minute detail will be printed on a Creality 3D Upgraded Ender-3 V2 3D Printer.
BASING & FLOCK
Bases are often not given the attention they deserve given how important they are. Not only do they help enhance and define individual miniatures, but they also serve to make armies look more uniform. Having a good base can help set a narrative environment while also giving the miniatures more personality.
KIT ASSEMBLY
A lot of miniature model enthusiasts simply pull their models from the printer, clip off the sprues (the little plastic burrs that join the pieces to the printing base), and then put them together. At NRCoffin Studios we know that preparing and assembling the different components of your miniatures properly is the key to making them look perfect, which is why upon request, we will assemble your miniatures for you at an additional fee.
First, we remove your miniature from the sprues, and scrape off mold lines.
Then we wipe off any residue that resulted from the clipping and scraping.
Following that, we assemble the actual miniature itself, taking care to make sure all necessary attachments are being addressed.
Lastly, all gaps are smoothed over with sculpting putty, allowed to dry, and special instructions such as magnetization or customization are taken into account. Now they’re ready for painting!
Model kits often offer a variety of option for every individual miniature. To reflect that, we also offer a couple of subservices within the realm of kit assembly.
MAGNETIZATION
Magnetization is a popular option for model enthusiasts that want to get the most use out of their models without having to buy multiples of the same kit or having models painted twice. While magnetization is not a practical option for every model, it can be a great way to maximize the versatility of your kits.
BARREL DRILLING
Most modern and science fiction models do not have fully hollow barrels on weaponry. Upon request, these weapons can be drilled out to create a more realistic piece.
Now watch your opponents tremble in fear as they stare down the barrels of your soldiers’ weapons.
